News on Strangeness at Ultrarelativistic Energies - Review of Microscopic Models
We review recent developments in the field of microscopic transport model calculations for ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions. In particular, we focus on the strangeness production, for example, the φ-meson and its role as a messenger of the early phase of the system evolution. Moreover, we discuss the important effects of the (soft) field properties on the multiparticle system. We outline ...
متن کاملElliptic flow and nuclear modification factor in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions within a partonic transport model.
The quark gluon plasma produced in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions exhibits remarkable features. It behaves like a nearly perfect liquid with a small shear viscosity to entropy density ratio and leads to the quenching of highly energetic particles. We show that both effects can be understood for the first time within one common framework. Employing the parton cascade Boltzmann approach t...
متن کاملModeling Magnetic Field in Heavy ion Collisions Using Two Different Nuclear Charge Density Distributions
By studying the properties of matter during heavy-ion collisions, a better understanding of the Quark-Gluon plasma is possible. One of the main areas of this study is the calculation of the magnetic field, particularly how the values of conductivity affects this field and how the field strength changes with proper time. In matching the theoretical calculations with results obtained in lab, two diffe...
متن کاملParton Equilibration in Ultrarelativistic Heavy Ion Collisions
Medium effects which include color screening and Landau-Pomeranchuk-Migdal suppression of induced radiation are discussed in connection with the equilibration of dense partonic system in ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions. Taking into account of these medium effects, the equilibration rate for a gluonic gas are derived and the consequences are discussed.

The construction of RHIC (Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider) at BNL will be completed by the time these proceedings are out and it will start accelerating gold nuclei at 100 GeV/A. What is the purpose of ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions? The reader may have dreams such as i) study of high density matter, ii) production of the quark-gluon plasma, iii) quasi-reproduction of the big bang, iv) ...
